At the heart of Whirling Skirmish barn dance and ceilidh band are brothers Richard (accordion)
and Alan (bass), who have been performing
together for as long as they can remember, in the past with their two sisters, and, more recently,
Alan’s three daughters.
As a duo, Richard and Alan produce a full, rich and highly rhythmic sound, far larger than might be expected from just two musicians, easily sufficient to fill any size venue and guaranteed to get toes tapping. Their repertoire is wide, including English, Scottish, Irish and American.
Should you prefer a larger band, a number of additional talented musicians are also on hand, including fiddle, flute, guitar and drums. This means that they are able to provide you with just the right combination for your particular preference, pocket and event.
Whatever size of band you choose, add to this one of a number of extremely experienced callers who work with them, taking you through the dances step-by-step, and you can hardly fail to have a great time.
